Orkney Success at Highland Area Texel Flock Competition

That the Parliament congratulates Keith Hourston, who is from Orkney, on being named as joint runner-up in the annual Highland Area Texel Flock competition, which took place at the Dingwall Mart on 18 December 2019; understands that Keith shared the runner-up position with Johnny Campbell, who is from Caithness, capping off a successful competition following his second and third place finishes in the Best Stock Ram section; notes that there was success for other Orkney competitors, including James Cowe, who secured first place in the Medium Flocks section and was the proud owner of the Best Stock Ram, Gareth Flett, who won the Champion Pen of the Ewe Lambs section, Aiden Cursiter, who came first in the Best Group of Ewe Lambs section, and Douglas Paterson, who was second in the overall Medium Flocks section; commends all of the competitors for their impressive efforts this year; pays tribute to the judges, who sponsored rosettes for the competition as well as carrying out their judging roles; thanks everyone involved at the Highland Area Texel Sheep Club for their organisation of the competition, which was well supported by members once again, and wishes them the very best for the year ahead.
