Following concerns about recent disruption on air services to and from the Northern Isles, local MSPs Liam McArthur and Beatrice Wishart held talks this afternoon with senior Loganair representatives, including CEO Jonathan Hinkles.
Commenting on the meeting, Mr McArthur said:
“As I know from personal experience over recent weeks, Orkney flights have been delayed or routed via Sumburgh on a regular basis. That is a concern and constituents have been in touch to explain the impact this disruption has had.
“It was helpful, therefore, to have a chance to speak to Loganair’s management earlier today. As well as setting out the reasons for the technical faults that have affected a number of aircraft, Mr Hinkles offered an assurance that steps have been taken to ensure services are back on track from the start of next week.
“I welcome those assurances, but have agreed to keep in touch with Loganair over the coming days to monitor developments”.
