Record-breaking Erica Clarkson
That the Parliament congratulates Erica Clarkson, from Orkney, on setting a new world record for the most consecutive days running an ultra-marathon distance (female); understands that Erica broke the previous record of eight consecutive days when she ran 50 kilometres a day for 10 consecutive days on the 400m track at the Pickaquoy Centre in Kirkwall; acknowledges that Erica has used her record-breaking effort to raise almost £3,000 for the medical research charity, Wellbeing of Women, which raises awareness and funds for research into the menopause and its symptoms; pays tribute to Erica’s incredible levels of dedication, determination and hard work that have led to this record being broken, and also extends its thanks to people across Orkney and beyond who have supported Erica in her remarkable accomplishment by donating funds, running alongside her on the track or providing valuable support and encouragement; commends Erica on her outstanding and inspiring achievement, and wishes her all the best for her future running pursuits and fundraising efforts.
